How You Can Survive In Harmattan Season

Two days ago I wrote about what I've been passing through since harmattan set in, it is becoming colder and dustier by the day, therefore we need to take proper care of our skin, eyes, hair and well-being as a lot of unpleasant diseases are likely to arise because of the weather. There are things you should do so as to protect yourself from the hazards that comes with the season:      

Drink more water

This season is usually associated with low humidity and that simply means that the amount of water in the atmosphere is reduced compared to other seasons of the year, which leads to the dryness and harshness of the weather so you have to drink more water than you usually do in order to stay hydrated.
 

Take care of your skin

The worst mistake you can make this season is not applying oily cream to your skin most especially when you are stepping out of your house. Always apply your moisturizing cream on every part of your skin but concentrate more on your legs and soles of the feet. Products like coconut oil and shea butter shouldn't be lacking in your house.

Avoid cracked lips

If your lips has ever cracked, you will understand the reason I say you should avoid cracked lips and to do so you need lip balms, lip gloss (get it here) or vaseline  anything that can keep your lips moisturized. For the ladies, you can apply the lip balm before your lipstick (get yours here) or maybe you prefer the lip gloss, that should be applied after the lipstick.

Don't Forget Your Hair

You don't want your hair feeling like a sponge you use to scrub your skin, harmattan is capable of that so you have to moisturize your hair as well by applying hair oil, lotions, creams everyday depending on your hair type. Also make use of hair sprays but try to avoid hair gels and any other hair product that will dry your hair. Most people use scarves to protect their hair from dust as well.

Keep yourself warm

This is the season we slim girls suffer from cold most and really feel the essence of fat in the body. You've got to try as much as possible to wear clothes that will keep you warm and protect you from cold, pullovers and cardigans or heavy woolen clothing materials are advisable to be used during this season.
Also your eyes should be protected from dust by using spectacles and by washing it regularly with clean water, your nose shouldn't be left out too, you can use nose mask in order to protect yourself. Now that you are aware, you should be able to equip yourself well in this season.
