Good morning, in case you are not aware, a total lunar eclipse will occur today 27 July, 2018. The full moon is going to pass through the centre of the Earth’s shadow. I read that it’s going to be the longest total lunar eclipse in the 21st century, which will last for 1hr 43mins.
During this period, the moon is going to turn a deep red colour. I don’t wanna miss this beautiful celestial sight of the ‘blood moon’. If I miss this one then I have to wait till January 21, 2019.
To view the lunar eclipse you don’t need any special equipment or glasses because it is not dangerous to look at the moon, unlike the solar eclipse where you will be viewing the sun. But, you will have a better and more detailed view with a pair of binoculars, so your eyes can do the viewing for you.
About 7:30pm pull a couch, invite your friends and have fun viewing this beautiful sight. Don’t worry if you cannot view it especially my readers in United States, I’ll gist you about it.
[Whispering] I also read that it will be easy to see Mars with your naked eyes as well, since it is very close to the eclipsed moon 😉
